Well Smokin I just looked at Pags patios and by far I would pick yours for me. So cool and wonderful taste. I love the way everything is situated!Cheers, Don

Should be good weather this weekend, I'll see what I can do.

Russ
While not quite as elaborate as Smokin's, I find a few extra bucks in the backyard is well worth it. Like Smokin, we spend a lot of time back there. We're on a small ridge and can see the Sutter Buttes, 60 miles away to the west and to the north, the Sierras. Backyard neighbors are below us.

A nice setup really pays for itself cause we eat out less often and stick around the house more.
Well I would love to have either one! I think both are better then the 24 I looked at and commented on because I bet yours are used way more. I've seen some that are beautiful but never used. I have a gas weber, a charcol weber, my amaerique and my dutch oven table on mine. It's not as big as some but sure enjoy it. Cook outside at least four times a week! Very cool for you folks to share. Now when I read your posts I'll think about your very cool and used decks! I'm about to put in my pork bellies as I was running low on bacon. Cheers, Don

We had nice weather, so had to do some yard/deck maintenance. I took some photos, I'll try to get them up to show it as stained, the GirlZebo finish and the mats. For the mats, I went with some I think Pags or someone suggested. Rubber kitchen mats:

And Pags, that view sounds great. We do have a greenbelt behind us, I can see maybe 100yards of trees, so you got me beat there... LOL
We had a greenbelt behind us, actually a forest, in Buffalo(Williamsville). That's a very nice setting.

Get many critters? We did. Rabbits, gophers, deer, birds, foxes, etc. Deer used to eat my wife's garden (no fence). No bear or wolves.

I saw all the trees. What're the two structures? I'm guessing...a shed and, maybe, Mother in Law's quarters. Big Grin

Large one is a shed for me
Smaller one is a Cat House or Catio for the 4 cats. They even have a side yard. Too many friends with allergies so we moved them outside.
Updated the photos today, just a quick post (need to edit a photo or two).

You can see the "fourth" area, Mrs. Smokin's GIRLZebo area.

The color difference is the stain we added. Wanted to post the photos PROVING we've stained it so you guys won't have to worry about painting when you stop by.

Don't ask how much stain a 4,000 Sq Ft deck takes, with two coats.
Smokin, I've been a lumber salemans here in Arkansas for a little over 20 years now. I sale to contractors and homeowners alike. Been on some pretty big projects in my time. I have to say I can't remember any 4000sq ft decks. That is one hell of a build. You may want to take stock in Thompson Water Seal. Very nicely done.

Didn't start out that big, just kind of happened when we laid it all out and I said... oh what the heck, let's go for it. It will definitely be a story for our CS reunion in the spring.

Thought about that water seal, but I don't want to apply it every year. Went with Olympic stain which is a heavy stain (almost a pain) given I don't want to reapply it every year. It's pretty thick and should hold up to me just having to touch it up overtime.

Yeah, the lumber order alone was more than my deck guy orders when he's framing small houses. I think I have a photo somewhere of all the lumber, but it covered the entire yard for months.

Glad to have it done, heading out to the hot tub with a cold one for a little after work relaxation.
Holy smokes!! It's even more awesome now that its done and the stain was a very good call. Almost looks like cedar pigmented which will help keep the mean sun from ruining it. I love to see real wood as I have a custom sawmill and planing business and sell alot of decking. Great job and now you can sit out there and smile at your wonderful work. Cheers, Don
Hey thanks. I know cookshack makes one but I read a review on it and it wasn't good at all. The guy said he loved his smoker but said the stand was a waste of money. He said the wheels bent the first time he used it. Can't imagine why he didn't ask for a replacement as they are awesome about that. My cabinet on my amerique leaked moisture into the controler and they sent me a new smoker period. Pretty hard to beat that service. Maybe I'll call them mon. and chat wth them. It is very expensive though. Thanks again, Don

Give the internet a shot and see what you come up with. Cookshack makes a stainless steel cabinet like you're wanting.
Russ,

Sorry I have not posted in a while, but been very busy at work. I have been lurking a lot though. I have just finished my deck project and I bought one of the Grill Gazebo like you bought as well as the 12'x 12' hardtop Gazebo, both from SAM's. I did notice that you changed the metal roof on the Grill Gazebo to match your house. Did you have a storm mishap or did you just want it to match your house??

LOL, same here.... I ADDED a couple of sheet metal screws to fasten the roof to the crosspieces to prevent them flying off in one of our FREQUENT thunderstorms. Your deck looks GREAT. I only doubled the size of mine (which woulld make up like <25% of yours..... Razzer, Wink ) I do have a nice outdoor kitchen with my FEC100 and SM066 under the grill gazebo.
Well, old friend, you must have done some good things in life to be blessed with such a splendid outdoor living area to compliment the hacienda.

I remember our old days,of a smokette, and then our CS 160s.Then graduating to an FEC out by the arroyo.

Things sure have changed, since we last shared your hospitality.

Ya'll certainly dserve it. Cool
Thanks Tom,

Yeah, you have been to the house, you wouldn't recognize it from back then.

And i gotta say. A few weeks ago, I'm standing on the patio of our Restaurant, eating my Q, watching my College team in the Big 12 championship. Yup, I pinched myself.

But there's a lot of stories along the way, and you my friend, are in many of them Smiler

I still need to make it to Florida...

Sorry it took me a while to post the pics, but I wanted to wait until I got the sealer down. While not NEARLY as nice as Russ's deck, he inspired me to "redo" our deck. The old deck was 14'x24' and the new one is 25'x30'. The only thing I have left to add is a CB36!! Again, I think Smokin' has the THE DECK OF ALL DECKS!! Wink
