Hello All,
Have not posted in a while but really enjoying my smokette 009 for the past years. Just experienced another sonic boom when loading a 8 lb shoulder 2 oz hickory, 2 oz apple one bricket of kingsford charcoal set at 250 deg. Hit after 40 minutes in west suburbs of Chicago in 35 degrees. Seems to happen every time I smoke a butt with the extra wood I usually use for a butt (Maybe the charcoal???). Never happened when I do ribs with one once of cherry wood and one chunk charcoal set at 250 deg. Can't wait for the pulled pork which I plan on taking to my Nephews 16th bithday party. He LOVES my pulled pork and says it's his favorite meal ever!!

Just an update..the shoulder has been in now for 12 hours and we are at 168 deg internal. This ones going to be stuburn thinking 17 hours total to finish. It's done when it's done!
there was another post (just two down from this one) and we discussed the boom.

As for the butt, I see a lot of 009 owners posting 2 hours a pd, but it's a 250 so it's just wait and see.
My 009 gets my attention once in a while with the boom. Hasn't done it lately but I'm sure it will when I least expect it.

Did a 9# PB last week, took 11.5 hours at 225* to reach 195* internal temp.
