My originals were pretty trashed after a couple of years. I bought two, and they do seem to clean up better. I made fake pastrami this weekend and after soaking the racks in soapy water use a Scotch-brite scrubbing pad to get them like-new clean with little effort. I've had them for a few months now and they still look new, no scratches in the metal and no wear marks. Hope this helps... Brian
I have an AmeriQue with stainless racks. After 7 months and 40 or 50 cooks, racks still look like new after the very easy cleaning I do! Let them sit in soapy water or use a little Simple Green, use a Scotch -Brite pad rinse them off or put in the dishwasher, they will look like new.
My grates on my 008 and my 150 are basically showing copper plating from all the cleanings.
Yesterday I ordered new ss racks for both units.
Talking to Karen at Cookshac I told her I pam the hell outta my racks. She thought that in itself my contribute to the chrome deteriation on my racks.
Her suggestion was an oil saturated paper towel to wipe down the racks before loading up the smokers.
Thought I would pass this along to all you folks.

Mike
I must've got a good batch of shelves. All 3 of mine, including the one I use the most, are still in very good condition. I always spray nonstick on them before each cook, and they clean easily, and I have no deterioration. I don't use Pam, I use generic, I think sometimes it is olive oil spray.

Cool

I checked the Cookshack site and they didnt list S/S racks for the 150.
I called Cookshack and spoke with Karen. They did have the S/S racks for both my smokers, so I ordered them.

Give them a call if you cant find something on there website.
