Folks, I have been a traditional wood burning pit smoker for many years. Lately, I have had the need to cook small amounts. These Cookshacks have caught my attention. This website/forum has provided me a wealth of info. I really like the Amerique. I have a ton of hickory and pecan. So my question is: for doing small batches of Q, is the Amerigue overkill or should I consider the smaller units. Thanx.

Depends how much you can afford and how much you want to spend, bigger is always better. Gives you more flexibility. The main difference is the number of shelves, two, three or four. I have the 020, 90% of the time it's plenty big, the other 10% I have to be inventive in my timing of smoking different items. You won't go wrong with any of the units.
