I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts as to the best way to transport a Smokette.
I’m thinking of the heating element in particular.
Might it best standing up or laying on its back?

I think I would take the woodbox out. Anything that might rattle around take out. Should be fine

Now ,my boys haul my real old one around in pickups ,to several mountain cattle ranchs,food hot in them,bungee corded down,hot coals,dropped off in the dirt,slid the length of the bed,worked like a borrowed mule.
So far,it just keeps on tickin'.

I've transported my Smokette with everything inside. I wasn't going far (20 miles) and it was paved roads all the way. Going further or not knowing the roads play safe and transport with everything out. If you are restricted on space place packing material on both sides of the wood box to prevent the box from bending the element. My experience has been the side to side motion of the wood box to be the most harmful.

Just keep the element from banging on something and it should be fine, plenty of people just throw them in the back of the vehicle.
