For that kind of money, you can get a really nice electric slicer that I think would be more versatile and useful. Such as the Chef's Choice at Amazon.

If it works as well as the attachment I bought for my Cabela's 1hp electric meat grinder it will cut more meat than you can afford. I found out that if the meat was a little damp it would go through rather than sticking. Also you might want to get some bamboo skewers to help clean the slicer they are rather a pain to clean.

I have that very slicer and love it, I have the butcher slice me 4" x 1" X 9" cuts of top round. This thing will eventually pay for itself - I have little to no waiste. It's pricey but if you do alot of jerky it's worth it. Cleanup is a snap, take it all apart and throw it in the dishwasher - just be CAREFULL, the blades are sharp.
I just bought one of them from cabelas, 200.00 so that isn't a bad deal. I just made 15# of meat into jerky the ohter weekend, so i won't use it for a few weeks.
