One of the stories I heard was from Wee Willies. He told someone I know that the year they won the Jack, he had to shut it down twice to clean the ash out of the pot. This is second hand info, but it was a very reliable source.

I also seen on another forum you were asking about comparisons to the CTO. There is 7" between the racks on the FEC100. I have put 8 pans in it at once to heat up a catering. I seen someone respond that the CTO does 10. If your thinking about comp cooking with it some of the other things I've heard were you need to use lump in it because you can't get it hot enough on briquetes. The FEC is standard cook and hold( or you can say 2 step cooking like alot of us do when comp cooking with it). I know it's a big purchase. If you buy direct from Cookshack we offer a 30 day money back gaurantee. I don't know of another MFG that offers that. All you do is pay the freight which is probably less then you think. Have you ever wondered why the other guys don't have a users forum? There is a reason why we are the #1 manufactured winning pit on the KCBS circuit. It's flavor and quality of product produced on the most consistant basis.
