Hi all, I've noticed that the outer sheath of the temp probe on my AQ tends to melt where it comes into contact with the edge of the vent hole. So far it hasn't gotten down to bare wires or affected the operation of the probe, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this occur and found a solution. I normally smoke at 225 so I'm assuming the probe construction is designed for this but it still seems not right. I've considered using something to insulate the probe sheath from the metal, but I don't want to affect the venting process. I've discovered these probes are pricy little things to replace! I also wonder if the probe does short out to the smoker at some point, will this kill the controller? Any help or ideas appreciated.
