FEC 120 iq4 display temp changing a lot in short time

I have an FEC 120 IQ4. The temperature on the display fluctuates by over 10f in less than 10 minutes, which seems a bit odd, and a bit fast for to be actually changing. I am going to put in a probe this weekend near the cookshack thermometer to check it.
