I posted some of this in the other forum, but am excited to share. I waited almost a month for my 009, and it arrived yesterday. I was determined to season, and use it right away. The weatherman issued a winter storm warning predicting 50 mph gusts, and a temp drop into the teens. As I loaded the 009 with 2 8 1/2 # butt's I thought "can that really happen? it's 54 degrees now". 5 hours into the smoke I'm watching my neighbors patio furniture blowing into the pond, and am amazed that it's really 13 degrees. I went to bed, and figured I'd pick up the pieces in the morning. When I got up the CS was still on the patio, and chugging out smoke. The PB was at 165 (I used a maverick remote). The meat stalled in the 170's for most of the afternoon, but I was prepared for that. Temp started climbing steadily, and reached 195 at 6:30 22 hours start to finish. Everyone loved the pulled pork, and I couldn't be happier. Talk about a trial by fire! Or ice I guess in this case. The info I got from this forum was invaluable, and I felt like I was well prepared for my first smoke. Sorry so long...I feel like a schoolgirl with a new crush.
