I'm new to this, but bought the true-temp probes from Target. They aren't that accurate. Any advice on what the pros use?

I bought the Maverick ET-7 dual probe wireless model and have been very pleased with it. Reviews at Amazon and here seem to indicate that digital therms are not the most reliable group of home appliances ever devised, but I consider my $40 well spent. I've checked mine with boiling water and it is dead on accurate.

Until the pros get here,I stayed across the street from a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Looks like Target has relabeled the Taylor brand as TruTemp. Bill, how inaccurate is "aren't that accurate"? Mine seems close enough for government work as the fellas at the Trane Co. used to say...
I bought the TruTemp and it appears to jive with the two analog probes I have in the cookbox.. +/- a few percent.
