I love my Amerique and have made lots of great BBQ on it. I've been having trouble with the display on the controller and some of the digits don't show up for the probe temperature. I've had the unit for 4 years and this is my second control unit (Cookshack replaced the first one with no hassle). Is there any maintenance I can do on the controller?

Is there a chance your meat probe got wet during cleaning? Or maybe a wire broke? Also carefully clean off any/all residue from the box probe. Other than taking the back off the smoker and checking connections I cannot think of anything else. My Amerique is from 2012 and still plugs along.
First, try unplugging the unit and gently cleaning the controller with a soft cloth, avoiding any harsh cleaners that might damage the electronics. Check the connections on the back of the controller to ensure they’re secure. If that doesn’t help, you might want to contact Cookshack again, especially since they've been helpful in the past. Since the unit is four years old, the display could be wearing out, and they may have a replacement part or offer a service option.

So far I've been lucky with my SM066 from 2013. My guess is that if some of the digits or digit segments aren't showing up, it's a display unit problem.
Thanks all for your help. I'll try the suggestions above and report back.
