I have a SM066 that I just did 40lbs of pork butt in. Seems the smoker box warped downward and wedged in between the hearing element guard and bottom of smoker. I was able to get it out but the smoker box bottom cracked. Not sure why this happened. Will this affect performance?

To me it looks like it corroded and stress fractured. Wouldn't expect that to happen with stainless steel though.
How's the inside of box look?
Personally I would not use it as it is. A hot coal hitting grease drippings on the floor pan might flame. Two options if mine ever blows out. Bang it flat and a place a piece of plain scrap steel in the bottom or buy a new wood box.
Its not the part the wood chunks sit in its underneath the heating element.
I think it would be usable as is but I would do like sarge says and buy a new box. I would also check the element to make sure it hasn't gotten bent.

My error and disregard the hot coal issue.
Wow. I have the old style wood box, so this is a surprise to me. I never realized what the new one looks like. I wonder why they designed it that way?
I dont' see where I can buy box directly as a part from Cookshack. its definitely an issue as seems like I'm getting build up around the drain hole now. Did another 20lbs of pork today and thing got clogged up and caked on bottom bad again.

Wow again! CS calls that "old style woodbox"! I guess I have a new style wood box. I think they changed it again after my 2013 purchase.
The newer models have a U shaped heating element not unlike other electrics rather than the W or M shape so new boxes are narrow as opposed to the wide old style like mine with is 2012 vintage.
Mine's 2013, so I guess we have the same unit. The wood box is pure simplicity and works great - wonder why they changed it?
