My local bbq store had several types of wood and they said that pear wood was a mild nice wood. Im doing 3 chicken breasts with it now...wondering what others opinions were.
Pear wood works real well, David. How much does your local store sell it for? If you have a cookshack, you don't need much wood. I'd collect from your local pruning neighbors. Let the wood cure before you use it in the cookshack. If you're using a Brinkman's like we were using before, you can even use the wood green, little amounts at a time. Then you don't add much water to your pan. Peggy
My local store sells a bag for about $5 I think , but theres enough chunks in there to last a CS a while. Cant get a local..only trees around me are oak and orange!! (anyone use orange wood?)
