Apple Wood

I always see people rave and rave about applewood. Apple wood this and that. I've tried it like 4 or 5 times and I"m not that found of it?

Is there anyone else that feels that Applewood isn't that great of a taste? Just curious maybe I'm doing something wrong,

I like apple on pork; I think really any fruit wood is good on pork (peach is fabulous if you can find it). I also have used apple on salmon - it's ok, but I prefer alder.

I've not used apple in a long time. In the Smokette, I like cherry and pecan mixed.

It may be the type of tree. I have different types of apple trees and I can tell the difference between them. Can't say any of them are bad just different. I use apple and pear a lot along with oak and hickory.
