I started to post this under the old thread and then noticed Smokin's plea for a new thread . . . twice! I may be slow, but my work is poor! Here's for you Smokin'!

Arguments to convince the wife that the investment in a Cookshack is the right thing to do:

1) Ease of cooking.

2) No going to bed smelling like a slab of bacon, even after a shower, after spending the entire day at the side of a smoke belching fire breathing monster.

3) Lets you take advantage of a number of cheaper but traditionally tougher cuts of meat.

4) Lets you try the hundreds of recipes Andi seems to be building around the world of friendly smoke.

5) Lets you smoke while you sleep.

6) Uses a lot less wood (a potentially BIG advantage if you have no local source of good wood).

7) Really, a very small 'footprint' given the capacity of the unit, even the little Smokette.

8) The ability to put out just enough aromatic smoke to titilate the neighbors but not enough to have them calling the fire department.

9) The ability to smoke in your garage when its raining, snowing, hailing or whatever with a fan or very minor modifications.

10) Being able to bump up against the unit without then having to interrupt the cook while the cook goes to the emergency room for treatment. And add to that the ability to get product into and out of the cooker without special protective gear that would make a welder blush without the same interruption . . .

11) Lets YOU do the cooking instead of HER!

That's more than ten and that's just off the top of my head (nothing stays up there for long anymore! Razzer ) . . . I'm sure there's more but I'm getting typers' cramp!

How about these:

Adds variety to your meals. For example, smoke some veggies, puree them, freeze them in ice cube trays, put in a ziplock baggie or FS them, then use them in soups and sauces. Mmmmmm!

Save money. Buy meat on sale, smoke it, FS it, and freeze it.

Convenience. Too tired to cook? Whip one of those frozen chunks of meat out of the freezer, reheat it, and it's dinner.

I can think of more but I don't want to be piggy, someone else throw some out here.

Oops, one more ... My son needs a new pair of shoes!

The posts have been printed and if I hadn't been a jerk yesterday(oops) I would have given her the entire posting. I think I will slip it in our nice dinner conversation with the kids all around so she will have to be civil! Just kidding, she is a big Q fan and we do smoke quite a bit with our little chief. It's just that last convincing that we need this more then the driveway getting paved or whatever.
