What is the best way to run the FEC 100 on Battery power. Also anyone have a FEC with the IQ3. Do you like it etc?

I have used both methods to run my FE100. Batteries and 110v. It does not seem to make a difference. I like to use batteries during a competition at night just so I don't bother the other competitors but I keep my generator handy just in case.

They come in handy especially at contests.
I was cooking at the Imperial Beach contest last week. I was near the end of a long power cord run from a generator a block away. Everything was OK until more people plugged into the line downstream from me. Too much power draw kept tripping the gang box upstream from us. It was a good thing I bought a Honda EU2000 with an extended run fuel tank.(30 hours) Caught it right when it happened. Lucky for us it was during the day. I was using a battery and inverter setup before, but my inverter would over heat on a hot day and turn off. So now, I use the generator at night to be safe.

12 volt marine grade battery from Walmart and a 400 watt inverter from Loews.
