I use a Maverick ET-7. They are a little more expensive. Some of the experienced folks like the Taylor remote thermometer. Reliable and less expensive.
MaxQue, that Taylor doesn't appear to be a wireless remote therm like the ET-7. Am I wrong?
BTW, that Taylor looks very similar to the inexpensive Acurite that I bought at Home Depot a few years ago. I have two of them, and they work great. Neither one is a wireless remote. I'm thinking that whenever one of them dies, I'll probably spring for the wireless remote type.
I'm a little behind the times too...lol, but I tend to agree. These are all a guy needs if cooking at home. It won't be long, if your smoking?, to start seeing a time line per say.
