Anyway, yes, do both. Do the rub-thang the night before or morning of. Smoke em. Then when they are almost done (maybe 30 min left), brush on your favorite sauce, both sides, and finish em off. A little sauce at the end (not too much) will create a nice glaze in the last 30 min.
