I have searched this web site for everything that even sounded close. I am now checking weber vitural site, but still no luck. I do remember this sauce had cider vinegar, instant coffee, pureed onions, if I'm not mistaken it was called a black dipping sauce. I found a Kentucky black bbq sauce, but that is not it. I'll just keep trying. thanks

I forgot to add that this sauce did not have a tomato base, and was made for a brisket dipping sauce.

I am pretty sure what we remember was used as a 'braising' sauce when foiling a brisket. I thought maybe it was coffeebluff who originally posted it.

Goode's Brisket Baste:

Beef Baste


4 cups beef broth 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 bay leaves 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 cup chopped onions Finely grated zest of 2 lemons
1/4 cup chopped celery Juice of 2 lemons
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper 2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup minced garlic 2 tablespoons white-wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Jim Goode's BBQ Beef Rub (see recipe) 1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1 pound finely chopped bacon

Isn't that the mixture Goode used to braise their pot roast?
