OK Gang ,Help this old man with a pacemaker out.
Does anyone have a method of switching from one flavor of pellets to another.
I have been digging them our of the hopper by hand down to the auger, then using a shop vac to clear as much as I can from the auger,Then make a smoke burn until the auger is empty.Add new flavor and cook.
Just seems there should be a more simple way to do the switch.

Here's what I do. I start the empty hopper with about a pound of flavorwood pellets, usually 100% and keep an eye on the hopper to make sure all these pellets go down the auger. Then I add oak to finish off (lowest amount of ash, consistent heat). If I want some extra smoke during the cook, foil packet some pellets and put it over the fire pot on the hood. Need to have a temp of 300+ for it to smoke good and steady. Otherwise it'll just kind a poot out when the pellet fire cycles (which is not a bad thing either). This is what I do for ribs & chicken cause the hopper's full of oak. Hope this helps.
