This is the kind of thing I hope they put in the new User's Manual. Until then:

I've covered the floor and the drip sheet that leads to the grease trap and the drip pan with foil, so that's no problem.

Any directions for the best way to clean the racks? I gave them a brushing while still hot immediately after my cook last night and that got most of the hangy stuff off, but now it's time to clean. I don't want to screw with the nice chrome coating, but I don't want to kill myself either. Anybody ever use the new Dawn Power Dissolve? MAN, does it work WELL to get rid of burnt on grease on my stainless steel cookware. Spray it on, wait 15 minutes and wash it away. Bye,bye, SOS pads. Any rack cleaning hints would be appreciated.

Also, does anybody ever clean the interior walls? Mine obviously don't need it yet, and maybe they won't unless things splatter. Smoke buildup would be fine. If wall cleaning is in my future, any tips from your experience would be very welcome, too.

Thanks.

Down here we set the racks in the Florida sun and spray with Greased Lightning or Simple Green, let set awhile and then hose off.

The thin plastic pans from Home Depot ,etc.

are good to set them in ,add the above cleaners and water, let soak,

hose off.

A large dishwasher with removable racks does a great job, also.

Eddy recommends plastic windshield scrapers and they are great, except we can't get them here.
great suggestions about the plastic trays. I'll have to look for them. Which department might they be found in? Today I set the trays on the driveway and sprayed them with an orange cleaner and let them sit. Gave them a quick rub with a BBQ brush and hozed them off. Nice and shiny. I'd rather do it in trays.

If you can't get plactic windshield scrapers (in Fla? Why not???? Roll Eyes ) try the plastic scrapers at Home Depot or any paint store used for removing paint from furniture. Find them next to paint stripper.
