G'day Smokin Okie!,

Thank you and I'm looking forward to the information that is shared in in the Forum.

Yes I'd like specific information about where I can find suppliers/vendors who provide colateral material as well as dollars to promote an event, product or service provide by myself as a BBQ Caterer and Drive-thru BBQ stand - ie like the Espresso Drive-thrus found here in the Great Pacific Northwest.

In my wholesale travel business, QANTAS Airways for example gave me $1000 to promote QANTAS in my marketing of a particular departure for wine tours to Australia. I mailed 3000 flyers to travel agencies and I asked QANTAS for co-op dollars to help pay for the mailing. I presented it in writing with all of the applicalbe data, and QANTAS co-op funded half of my total requirement.

This is just one vendor who has given me funds to promote them and my service together.

I would tend to believe that it is done in the world of BBQ.

A sauce company, meat vendor, smoker supplier, clothing, vehicles, consession trailers, misc equipment and so on.

I know almost every vendor in the travel business provides collateral material, co-op dollars for events, mailings, presentations, promotions, and give-aways with events, radio and tv promotion. The list of support and dollars is there.

So where is it at in the BBQ World? What types are available? When do you ask for it?

In the Travel world, you ask for it in the fall so your DSM can put it in their next years budget.

Perhaps I am a bit long winded here, but knocking on the door and asking for it, is just part of smart marketing and promotion.

In the travel world, companies pay me token dollars every month just to promote them as a resource.

OK..........Whats the answer and where do I start my second phase of research at?

Thanks for all your help.

Bill
