Cooking grates

That pretty much happens.

Just dry them well when you put them away.

Mine are the same way, the plating is coming off of them.

Does anyone make a true stainless steel rack in a size that will fit a Cookshack?

Does the stainless model comoe with stainless racks?

Mine is the stainless model 009 and the grates are not stainless.

Seems like I once saw stainless racks somewhere in 16" x 14" size. Maybe could cut them down? Can't recall where, tho, was some sausage-making supply site.

After 3 years, mine are pitted into the copper plate and the steel rod. Salty foods like jerky and ham seem to be the worst.

If you are looking for SS racks I might recommend a used food equipment supply company. Lots of times they buy things by lot and have misc. grids, racks, etc. that they sell pretty cheap. Probably won't be an exact fit but would be functional.
