DIY 7 rack rails

You've spent good money to get great barbecue. What's a few more bucks? You've worked hard all your life. You deserve it. Treat yourself.

I know, just have a hard time justifying it, and getting the boss to approve :-)

if everyone on the forum chipped in a couple of pennies, we could buy the rack for you. Just my 'two cents' worth.

I dont' know if this hurts or helps, but the new FECs out of cookshack (like mine DEC 11) come standard with the 7 rack system. I just ordered three more racks (along with rib racks). I thought I could use all seven as more diversity when I do jerky or wings or sausage.

I do have a little issue with trying to design work around for something the owner of the forum sells. But that's me. Kinda don't bite the hands that feeds you.

That's like selling a CS smoker on this forum. It competes with their business.

I'm positive that's not what you meant, I just wanted to put a different persepctive.

Me? I have the multi rack system and NEVER use all 7 racks. One reason I suggested they make it standard was to allow variable shelf height/adjustments.

I pretty much buy whatever gadget I want. If and when the boss asks where or when I got it I usually tell her I’ve had it for some time, this is just the first time she’s seen me use it. It works about 85% of the time basically because she likes me cooking for her.

It wouldn’t work for my new cold smoke baffle because she saw the UPS dude bring it, but then she didn’t question it either.

If it’s something you feel you need to foster your new addiction just do it. It all comes out in the wash

Absolutely not my intent whatsoever. However, it seems that us BBQ/smoking types are always trying to tweak things, make them better and do things ourself. I doubt I would ever use all 7 racks at the same time, but would like the flexability to position racks in different locations.

Like Smokin' says,as usual.
Teammate and a couple other friends went for the seven first thing.

After the thought of all the flexbility passed,it seems to have just become another gadget that wasn't as critical as it sounded in discussion.Maybe someday.

I understand that there are thoughts of making the FEC a big jerky machine.
