I have a Maverick ET7 and am not very pleased with it. It loses it's signal quite frequently, even when the receiver is sitting right next to the transmitter. I've talked to the people at Maverick and they tell me it's caused by interference of other devices in the neighborhood using the same frequency. That seems hard to believe since we are operating cordless phones, routers and other such devices which don't bother each other and these are the ones that they mentioned as the prime offenders. Go figure.

On the other hand, there have been folks on this forum who have had very good luck with the Mav so maybe I just got a lemon. Anyhow, that's my story and I'm sure you'll get lots more advice here.

My Maverick occasionly loses the signal also. Last year we were at camp. No electricity, no cell phones, no neighbors within 5 miles, not even an airplane overhead, and it still lost it's signal now and then.
However, I have learned to live with it and find it indespensible.
I have the Maverick dual probe also. It works good, but the "advertised" range is a joke. It's good up to about 50 to 100 feet as long as their is no interference. I tried taking it in the camper (about 40 feet) from the smoker and it lost signal. I ended up leaving it outside under the awning and just stepping out to check it.
