Electrical short

I'm not to happy about my 008 lately. it's about 3 years old, has been treated with kid gloves and is stored in the garage when not in use.

Lately, I've been getting a shock when I touch the metal top. Fortunately, I'm not standing in a puddle of water or sauce when it happens. Can someone from CS do somethng about this before I electrocute myself?

Give them a call on the sales/'service line.

Although Stuart tries to keep up with us on the forum,it isn't really monitored by the factory staff.

STOP USING IT NOW! CALL COOKSHACK, AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GROUND FAULT INTERUPTER ON THE CIRCUIT THAT IT IS PLUGGED INTO.

Hopefully you have called our office by now. But in case you haven't stop using the unit immediately. It sounds like we have a heating element going bad, they will sometimes leak a little voltage to ground before they go completely out.

Give Tony a call in customer service at (800) 423-0698 and he will be happy to get you a new heating element on the way.

Tony said it's possible some wires from the heating unit are touching the frame inside. he suggested I take off the back and checking the heating element wires. If they're ok...I'll have to order a new element.
