Just received my smoker today and when I set it up for break in I noticed that one side of the element sits higher than the other and the element is touching the bottom of the wood pan. Is this a problem and if so, what do I do?
Raise the lower side to even the element. Touching the wood box helps the wood burn better. When reinserting my woodbox, I have to gently lower the element to place it.

Are you new to smoking or have used some other types of smokers? The reason I ask, is if you are new, Smokin' has some 101 tutorials that he has made... LINK
