I have 2 problems.....

1. My unit always cooks higher than the temp set. If I want to cook at 225 then it ranges from 235 - 275. (I check with a stove gauge).

2. When I cook on Smoke or 185 the fire goes out and stays out.

I did have to replace the controller, does it need to be calibrated or set somehow?

Its very frustrating to have these occur during a competition.

Those are some of the reasons CS uses their own controller now.

There is a minor adjustment you can try, on the BACK of the Traeger controller you can adjust the dial (depending on what # it's on now)

I have one and don't have a problem with it on Smoke/180, never goes out. Could also be the fan not working and blowing air.
i had this same problem. i had to make an adjustment on the back of the control panel to adjust the timing of the auger.
i have added the picture of the traeger control knob that i have.
on the back towards the top left corner there is a dial that you can adjust. i moved it from 0 to 3, and that brought down the temp from 350* to 215* on 180* setting.
