Just finished refurbishing an FEC 500. Have tried plugging it into several GFCI. It runs for a couple of minutes then pops the circuit. No problems with a standard circuit. Other then that in works great.
Try running it for awhile on non GFI. After a major cook, it might again work on the GFI. Something to do with moisture on new units which may have occurred with a refurbish.
If that doesn't work, call the folks at Cookshack. They'll figure it out.
I have had the same isuuse with ground fault breakers. Seems that the ground faults will not carry the same load as a non ground fault breaker. When the heater elements begin, the unit will pop the breaker.
Most GFCI trip from the heating element having some sort of issue. Try it like Pags said and run it for a while on non GFCI and see if that "dries" everything out.
