I am so excited i cant hardly stand it! My cooker(fec-500)will be shipping on June 13 and i have a comp. to go to on the 20th of june so i have visions in my mind of being one of THOSE TEAMS that open the box at the comp and come in and place on a cooker that has never been used! Incase you cant tell , i truely love those stories and want to be a part of that legend!!!!will take as many pics as possible when the 500 comes off he truck so those of you who are curious what the big guys are boxed up like you can see. Thanx for all the support anong the way and helping me to go with the 500 over the 300 , it was an very hard for me to choose but i am ready to do it the 500 way! stainless is gonna be so cool!!!!!!

Make sure you do a few practice cooks first. I got my 500 in Reno after they shot the Versus contest. Eddy used it there. I went directly to a contest. I put my packer briskets and pork butts on at 11PM. I got up at 6 and the brisket was at 220*. The flat was a meteorite, but I was able to cube the point and save the entry. (Got an 8th place). The butts were 205*. A little mushy, but were savable. I called Eddy that morning and he said "I forgot to tell you that this unit will cook much faster at 240* then my 100 due to the large convection fan". After a few cooks, it was easy to control the timing and cooking temps. Congratulations and Good Luck.
The more i have thought about it the more i worry about getting the 500 out of the back of the truck , i will be unloading it onto a loading dock but im not sure how it will be loaded so im thinking i will be able to hook a chain on the pallet if it is on a pallet and drag it to the back...if it isnt on a pallet then im not sure what i will do , have any ideas on how they get loaded?
Here are some ways to unload

They either come on a trailer if you ordered it that way or the have casters on them. They will be nose loaded in the van trailer when it arrives.

A 300,500 or a 750 you can use a fork truck with 5' long forks will work. Or order a rollback tow truck and they can put their bed to the back of the van trailer to roll the unit out on. Then the truck will move away and the roll back will drop the bed and put it to the ground to roll off.

It will be best if you have any questions about these procedures to Call Cookshack. We ship these all the time like this and the sale staff are very knowledgable about this and are the best at helping you with this. They do not monitor the forum for questions.
