smokeit,
don't know the laws in ohio but here in florida you will need a hood system. the exhaust from the fec can run in flex hose and terminate at the hood filter. in my county if you are not running a fyrer you will not be required to have a fire suppessor installed in the hood.
all of this is still fresh in my memory as we had one of our several annual inspections last month.
hope it helps some
get with your local authorities for the last word on what is required where you are

Smokeit,
When Jack says one of our several annual inspections, we've only been operating one year. When we began, they called our first inspection our "annual inspection". Then we found out we had to have 3 inspections each year. When I got the annual renewal notice for money due to the state, it said to call for inspection. When I called, I found out I was just in time for our 2nd inspection that was needed for our 1st year, which was only 6 months after we did the first inspection. Then we had to have another one 3 months later at which time the rules had been changed to 2 inspections per year. Now we only have to have 1 more "annual" inspection for the year!
Oh, the years run July-June, if I recall correctly! Not even Jan-Dec like the rest of us! But, the inspections are a real learning experience. I really like our inspector. I usually ask him something that stumps him and he calls his boss and gets the answer for me right away.
Best of luck.
Peggy
