FEC100 Capacity Question | Cookshack

Hi All,

Quick question on capacity. I do not yet have an FEC, but I am getting close.

Could I cook 4 packer briskets and 6 butts at the same time in the 100?

I was thinking two briskets per shelf and 3 butts per shelf?

Let me know if this is accurate or not.

I've done up to 4 packers and 8 butts. depending on size, etc you might rotate 1/2 way through the cook when you have that much, just to insure even cooking. Not a have to, but it's a technique I use.

Is it safe to say that I could get two packers on one shelf (depending on size)? I normally cook 12-13# packers.

Yes to 12/13# packers. 15 or bigger get a little long
No to the 7 shelf. The vertical space is tight depending on how tall the butts are, but I've done 16 butts in the 4 shelf system many times.

If you rotate you can fill it up
or you can own two and not rotate
You see why I am slow to let the cooker go

FEC I ended up using both today
We are going to put both on the trailer with the FE Grill also
