Just cooked for the first time. Everything came out perfectly cooked, except the wood never burned. No smoke! Is it possible to put the firebox in backward?

Yes, the end with the biggest rectangle goes on first.. the rectangle on the slot where the element fits.
I would call Tech Support before you try what I did.. which is to bend the end of the element up such that it touches.. or almost touches the bottom of the smoke box. Actually.. just lifting the end of the element a bit till it comes real close. That should get the wood to burn better.. BUT, please call Tony before trying this.. you might just create a problem and that would make me feel bad..
