first butt w/brining

brine butt for 7hrs. washed dried and rub. cooked 10.5lb for 12hrs. want never cook another butt without the brine. used Okies vinegar based carolina sauce and you could hurt yourself. thanks Okie for the recipe

Well, glad it worked for you, those brine recipes have helped a lot of people.

For me, I don't brine PB's, but I do inject them with a brine. They're so dense, it would actually take at least two days for the brine to penetrate very far.

What you did it fine, it will actually season the outer portion pretty well.

Also good to see people try new things.
