Hey Guys. This might seem to be an odd question, but here goes. Cooked Three briskets and two picnic shoulders, shanks.(Didn't have the Butt attached). Used my standard rub and the briskets turned out great, but the Shoulders seemed to have an odd flavor. It is hard to describe, but not what I am used to from having done several dozen butts.

Has anyone ever noticed a flavor difference between the butt and the shank???

Sam's had just closed, so I went to Walmart and picked up these two. They were both in a vacumn pack and had a good tight seal, and had no smell when unwrapped.

Need some input from the wise men of this board??
