Freeze Dried Molasses - Where can I buy it?

I'm from the area in east Ky that the Wall Street Journal and many food mags refer to as the best sorghum molasses in the world.

We do use it in alot of things,as we do Steen's cane syrup from La.

I'm just curious what you use it in and maybe can find a substitute.

The purpose of freeze-dried molasses is to use it in rubs in lieu of brown sugar.

Or to use the two in combination.

If using in rubs, then the powder will be much better......finer consistency to match the other spices.

Looks like molasses powder is available from a lot of different spice and bulk food mail order places. It appears to be a mixture of molasses and maltodextrin that's spray dried.

Try googling for molasses powder.

It's used in some of the Hi Mountain Jerky Cures like come packed with the smokette.
