I have an unopened, cryovac wrapped brisket that has been in the deep freeze for a hair under 2 years. Is it toast? If so, can I at least make the dogs happy with 15lbs of spoiled beef?

HERE is a FDA site that I found. It states that 6-12 months is the limit. I didn't know if the cryovac would buy me more time.

I guess there must be a limit on cryovac, but other than the "gov't",I never heard of the max.

I heard a rumor that workin' for the gov't food dept, required at least a second cousin to appoint ya,or register for the party in power.

I didn't hear nothin about bein' able to cook anything.

If it has been kept down around 15*-or less, and there are no leaks, you should be fine.

Smell it,look at freezer burn, and then go ahead and cook it.

Heck, worst case that be one happy hound. Big Grin
Just my $0.02
