in the last few months, my FEC100 has been running real hot a certain settings. At the smoke setting, it is running around 240 and at the 180 setting it is running in the 260-ish range. At the 225 setting, it seems to be running normally. My dip-switch setting is on 2.....should i turn it up a bit? I'm burning BBQR's Delight pellets.
Anybody have any idea what is going on?

Have you run a probe on the inside separate from the installed probe? If yes, what did it say in relation to the installed probe? If no, I suggest you do so so you can determine that the installed probe is reading true or not.

If it is reading true, I would suggest you call Cookshack and ask for technical support to discuss the problem and see what suggestions they might have.

Some other considerations are have you been cooking with the FEC in the sun now where it was in the shade previously? Have you cleaned off the installed temp probe inside the smoker lately?

FF, I'm not sure the setting would be the problem if this is a new problem. But I could be wrong.
Maybe it is just my FEC but I find if I am cooking in the sun, the cooker will heat up very quickly and overshoot the cooking temp in the beginning if it is sitting in the sun. I prefer to have mine in the shade when I am cooking. This should be just psychological in my case since the smoker is so well insulated, but I always tend towards the safe side and not tempt fate.
