See! WE told you it was worth the wait!!!Well Im very new to the FEC, and limited on tips, but what I learned so far is foil the bottom, of it as far back as you can.also the grease "slide" if you will, the front of the stand in front of the door and the drip pan.
My first cook ran it at 275 for an hour, then put one rack on

For a first cook, do a Pork Butt. Easy and lots of meat. Note that the heat comes from the bottom, so rotate the butt a couple of times during the smoke. Also, on mine, the back left corner is the hottest.

For seasoning, didn't it come with some instructions in the manual? Nothing much to it.
