i would love to get my hands on some apple chunks. i been using pellets. good stuff, but dont last long. one of my customers just chopped down a pecan tree a immense proprotions, supposedly, i am gonna get a big chunk of it. man, i sure would love to chop it and sell it....
i just got my shipment of mesquite. i buy 50 lb box, for 25 bucks, no shipping fee.
but this particular batch, is full of bugs! not something i want in my restaurant. good thing, it never came inside. we chop it outside. crazy looking critters, kinda like a cross between a cockroach, and a cricket, i dont know it they have stingers, and i aint gonna find out, i goto town with the hammer and hatchet.
coffee, sounds like you have spider crickets. They will crawl around vertical surfaces and look like spiders, except they have one pair of long v-shaped legs. Jump really good. They feed on rotting wood, usually find them in old sheds around here. Either your shipment got wet or was stored someplace where the wood was rotting. Without an easy food source, like rotting two by fours in a dry shed, they will just get lost in the field and die. They don't bite, but they are ugly buggers, though.
