Avoiding iodized salt has nothing to do with jerky, I don't use it for anything.

Not everyone can taste it. I do.

I just use regular salt without iodine added. I buy a 5lb bag at sam's for about 2 bucks and I keep it try, last a long time.

Also, you can NOT freely substitute the other salts for each kind. The size of the grains makes a huge difference.

A cup of table is not equal to a cup of kosher or a cup of canning salt. They have different properties.
