Well my Joe Smoker 410 bit the dust a little over a week ago. After 3 dumping 3 heat coils in a week I decided to make the leap. I ordered a 150 and it arrived post haste. 4 days from Oklahoma to Western Montana. Not bad. As we were taking the old smoker out a fella offered to buy it for $200 more than I paid for it. We tried to get the 150 up and running today. Some kinda short in the computer mechanism. I'm sure Tony at CS will have it going Monday. We had elected to run a 3/4 inch conduit diret to the roof, about 3 feet, with a quick disconnect at the point where the exhaust exits the cook box. That had worked for the Joe Smoker. Tony recommended against a direct vent. Said it will create too much draw. Since we want to minimize smoke in the trailer, we are going to initially try it anyway. Also I like some smoke out there tantilizing the public. If it creats too much draw will figure out how to get an air gap in the exhaust. I spent considerable time this evening searching the archives on the subject. Did not find a post which dealt exactly with our situation. You can rest assured if it don't work we will be back here picking the brains of the intilects who congregate here on the forum.
I liked Jack's idea of running the new probe through the exhaust pipe then down into the box. Would appreciate comments on these two subjects. In the meantime "Keep Stokin and Smokin"
