I have a model 50 with the cover. I live in KC and want to make sure it is ok to leave the 50 outside for the winter without damaging it. Any reason I can't. We may get a good day and I'd like to use it whenever I can.

I've got the 50 also, but I live in northern Utah, where it gets rather chilly, and I leave mine outside as well.
Doesn't even need a "good" day. I turn it up whenever I have a hankerin' - like today, when I tossed a slab of balonga topped with some slices of muenster in with a small chunk of apple...makes a decent lunch snack even at 35F.
