So I was at a garage sale over the weekend and a man was uncovering an interesting looking oven thingy with a stainless top as I walked up and I must have been staring at it because he started telling me I needed it.. I asked if it worked and he said "sure" we plugged it in and it got warm so I bought it having no idea at the time what it even was for sure.but it looked almost brand new and he said he had only used it a couple times and just wanted it out of his garage. I thought it may work good as a warming oven on my trailer I take around for church functions and such.
Got it home and checked it out closer and it is a Cookshack 008 born 8-25-05... Sorry guys but it still didn't mean too much to me until I started doing some research on it....I have burned several ricks of wood every year for many many years in my offset smoker but have never thought of owning an electric smoker....now it seems I'm going to learn to use one! I'll be trolling around finding all the information I can on these little things and figuring out some tricks for them.
The cover he pulled off of it was the original cover that I found out aren't cheap themselves!
Bet I can still use it as a warmer too! Now to figure out a battery and inverter setup to put on my trailer to run it off the grid.
And to think I almost passed it up for what he was wanting for it because I had no idea what it was.......I paid $20 for this little gem.. Now I'm excited I bought it!!

Wow - you absolutely got a sweet find there! I would recommend getting an 8# to 10# Pork Butt, set that smoker to 225, put in a block of Hickory and walk away for 12 hours. Your going to return to one of the most tender and moist pork shoulders you ever made, and wonder why oh why you fed logs to do this.
Enjoy the new toy! For $20, you couldn't have gone wrong.

Oh okay. A guy was selling a program from the 1966 Beatles concert in Japan, he attended while in the military. Knowing that Beatles memorabilia is highly collectable, I was flipping through the program and immediately came across the ticket stub. Still fully intact with only right side ripped off at the perforation. This wasn't no ticket master ticket stub. It looked like this.
Ticket
I was really excited now. I closed up the book and asked the seller how much? (my first thought was does he know it's in there? My second was how expensive is this going to be?) His answer shocked me. $10. I am thinking he had no idea the ticket stub was in there. I debated telling him as I was reaching for that 10 spot in my wallet. Before I could hand him the $10 he said by the way my ticket stub is still in there. He wasn't telling me because he wanted it back, he was telling me because he was afraid that I was going to negotiate with him. I never said a word and just handed him the $10.

I sold the ticket and program book for $600 within about 30 days. Not my most profitable find, but one of my favorites. I think I put the money towards one of my smokers too!
