Hello. I just purchased a used FEC100. I was cooking wings the other day @ 450* (my first try using it) and I noticed my temp started to lower. I checked the hopper and watched the last few pellets slide down the chute. I wasn't sure if you could add pellets while it's running when it runs out like that, so I shut it down. I then tried refiring it and all I got was heavy smoke and slowly lowering temps. I went ahead and pulled out the wings and finished in the oven.

I went out today and kind felt around the fire pot and felt some pellets in there so I figured let's try again. Same results, all smoke, no heat. What do y'all suggest?

Thanks, Rick

That's going to be my next move. After vacuuming out the pot should I add a small amount of pellets to it to help with the restart? I read somewhere in here to do that.

It seems to me that this has happened to others. I figure it has something to do with me letting it run out of pellets. Being a new owner and not knowing the mechanics of my smoker completely, could some of you more experienced guys/gals give me a breakdown of what most likely happened?

I would contact the previous owner but between running last weekends bbq comp. and the hurricane this week, he's been a bit tied up.

Thanks again,
Rick
