Yes.
It's actually made that way. Once you've used it a time or two (maybe three) the Seasoning of the Smoker will actually help create a better seal.
That's one of the reasons to season it.
It'll be fine. Let us know after your 3rd smoke if it's still doing it.

I have used mine three times so far (in three days!) and the smoke from the door in my Smokette seems to be going away, or at least it doesn't seem to be as much as when I first seasoned it. Just make sure your not cleaning all that brown & black goodness off the inside after a smoke, the chunks & flakes of stuff can go, but leave the sides nice and brown.. thats what makes the seal I think..
