I have a cookshack II and have used 5 times. I am getting a grey matter on the top of my meat that appears to be a leak from the hole in the top. Kind of silver grey looking matter. I have wiped the threads, etc. and appears again. Is there grease or something I should of cleaned before using.. THANKS

You can try setting a food can with both ends open over the vent hole. The moisture condenses on the can and stays on top of the smoker instead of dripping inside. I read about this somewhere on this forum and it works for me. You will end up with some gunk to clean off the top, but better there than inside on your barbeque.
