can't really hang em in a smokette. I use weber rib racks... you can get two racks, split in half (4 pcs) on each rack, and one rack per shelf. That would be 6 racks max. But the bottom shelf gets a bit hot... you may want to go with the middle and top rack. or swap the top and bottom racks mid cook.
Reading this thread and remembering that the issue of hanging ribs in the smokette comes up fairly regularly, it occurred to me that there has been no discussion of hanging them horizontally. In other words, front to back. It seems to me the cook rack could be placed in its highest position (on top of the top groove about a half inch from the roof) and the ribs could be hung side by side from the rack. Depending on the size of the ribs, you could repeat the drill on the second level. Looking in the front of the smokette it would look something like this.

The smaller hooks could be made from some heavy gauge aluminum or stainless wire. Just an idea.

Not a bad idea. Actually for the larger CS's they make racks that you place the ribs into and that's who they go, front to back, side to side.

But, I think, since it's a square box, you'll get approximately the same ribs, whether horizontal hanging or vertical hanging.

Sounds like someone needs to do an experiment.
I made some rib hooks. I had some flat shish-kabob rods and cut them using tin-snips.

I used the homemake rib hooks to hang ribs in my Smokette. I cut the racks in half and hung them from the top rack. At first, I hung 2 racks (4 pieces). My smokette looked pretty empty. Then, I needed to cook a bunch of ribs for work. I cooked 6 full racks in my Smokette. It worked great. I'll post pictures soon.
