OOOLLD Cookshack... what IS it?

Hey Guys,

I saw an OLD cookshack listed on the local craigslist, looking sad and neglected, in a basement.

I brought it home and started to dismantle it so I can bring it back to life. I have two other cookshacks, but I can't seem to identify this one.

Anybody know what this thing is?

Had a single knob thermostat and 5 racks.

Check the serial number. Is it #000001 ?

It's hard to gauge size from the pic but it looks like an early version of a SM100. If there is a legible serial number call Cookshack for model ID and parts help.

Remove the extended vent pipe...it shouldn't be there in the first place.

Sounds to me like an 055 and the 5 racks and single knob control clinch the deal. But might have had a different model number waaay back.

Yeah, I removed the extended pipe when I first got it home. Haven't found a serial number as of yet. It's cleaning up fairly well so far. Excited to add it to the arsenal.

The racks are small, about 13 inches I'd guess.

With 13" racks I'm betting it's an *old* model 50/55. I have one similar. Good score- I saw that one on craigslist and was so tempted...

Yeah, I typically search the local area craigslist for cookshack. This one makes five smokers in the arsenal. It's in pretty bad shape though. It's going to need a few parts.
